Remove the background from a product photo, privately

Most background removers upload your photo to a server. SnapStudio runs a small segmentation model directly in your browser, so your product photos never leave your device.

Platforms change their rules; always confirm with the official source below before you list.

How to make one with SnapStudio

  1. Take the photo in soft, even light (a window on an overcast day is ideal). Fill most of the frame with the product and keep the whole item in shot.
  2. Open SnapStudio and drop the photo in. The background is removed in your browser; the image is never uploaded to a server.
  3. Pick a background (pure white #FFFFFF, any solid colour, or a soft gradient) and toggle the subtle shadow and lighting cleanup.
  4. Tick the export sizes you need and download the JPGs (plus a transparent PNG cutout) individually or as a ZIP.

For the cleanest cutout, shoot against a plain background that contrasts with your product (a dark shoe on a light wall, a white mug on a darker surface).

FAQ

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The model (about 4.5 MB) downloads once and runs locally in your browser.

Can I get a transparent PNG?

Yes. Every run includes a transparent PNG cutout alongside the JPG exports.

What products work best?

Solid objects with clear edges: shoes, bottles, boxes, electronics, jewellery on contrast. Fine hair, fur and glass are harder for any automatic tool.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes, in a modern mobile browser. The first run is slower while the model downloads.

How many can I do free?

3 a day with a small watermark.
